The Clerks Office Main Office in San Juan is open to the public from Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except on official holidays. The following services are available to the public during this period of time:

In addition to the federal holidays, the Court observes other local holidays, as so ordered by the Court. This list, although accurate, is subject to change. The Voice Information System (VCIS) allows you to call the Bankruptcy Court's computer from any touch-tone telephone by dialing (787) 977-6130. VCIS gives the case information over the phone using a computer-synthesized voice. Information provided includes the following:

The drop box is for the use of the US Bankruptcy Court only. All types of documents may be filed in the drop box, except emergency matters such as temporary restraining orders (TRO), adversary proceedings, and motions under Section 362, which should be taken directly to the Clerks office.To file documents in the drop box you should have the original to be filed, and an envelope to place the documents. Do not deposit loose documents in the drop box. Do not stamp new bankruptcy petitions before depositing. Place them in an envelope with the corresponding file. Submit an original and a copy on Chapter 13 Proof of claims. Do not deposit cash in the drop box. The payment of filing fees must be made by check or Money Order payable to the Clerk, US Bankruptcy Court. Drop box is available for filing at the following site:

Copies of documents filed by mail will not be returned to you unless you submit a stamped, self addressed return envelope with the copy to be returned. Please, staple the envelope to the copy so that it does not get lost. To commence an adversary proceeding, the plaintiff must file the following:
Public Access to Computers and Electronic Records Computers are available for the use of the public on the facilities of the Clerks office. This provides access to information related to all cases filed from November 1986 to the present. Information for cases filed before November 1986 is available in microfiches.Documents corresponding to cases filed after May 1, 1998 are scanned and available for review through imaging.Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) is an electronic public access service that allows users to obtain case and docket information from Federal Appellate, District and Bankruptcy courts, and from the U.S. Party/Case Index. Currently most systems must be dialed directly using communication software (such as ProComm Plus, pcAnywhere, or Hyperterminal) and a modem, but the Judiciary is moving toward providing case information on the Internet through. PACER-Net sites. Electronic access is available for most courts by registering with the PACER Service Center, the judiciary's centralized registration, billing, and technical support center.Each court maintains its own databases with case information. Because PACER database systems are maintained within each court, each jurisdiction will have a different modem number. Accessing and querying information from each service is comparable; however, the format and content of information provided may differ slightly. Toll free modem numbers are provided to most jurisdictions.PACER is a service of United States Judiciary. The PACER Service Center is run by the Administrative Office of the United States Courts.To register, fill out one of the registration forms available on their site. Or write to: PACER Service Center What do you need to obtain information about a case? You need the case number or the exact name of the debtor.
